NDIS Engagement

Mental Health Victoria has been funded by the Department of Health and Human Services to provide information and build the capacity of community mental health services during the implementation phase of the NDIS in Victoria.

Support activities have included:

  • Facilitating state-wide forums focussing on key developments, relevant information and updates for mental health providers
  • Facilitating state-wide forums focussing specifically on workforce change
  • Facilitating over 10 Regional Mental Health Reference Groups with coverage of all 16 Victorian NDIS regions
  • Producing a comprehensive report (Learn & Build: Barwon Under Full Scheme) reflecting the changes required by mental health organisations based on the Barwon roll-out
  • Conducting an analysis and producing a report (Community Mental Health Workforce Training and Development Analysis) on the changing role and professional development needs of the NDIS psychosocial disability workforce
  • Developing and piloting an online platform and professional development model for NDIS psychosocial disability providers
  • Distributing regular NDIS e-bulletins to over 1500 recipients to provide relevant and up-to date announcements and information on the NDIS for mental health providers
  • Providing direct support to organisations through in-house meetings and support, presentations at events, responding to calls and emails
  • Supporting the development of the Psychosocial Disability Evidence Report and NDIS Practice Advice Guide through the Eastern SRS ROAR Project
