Mental Health Victoria's submission for Victoria's State Disability Plan 2021–2024 is now available online.
The submission provides responses to the key topics identified in the Victorian Government’s consultation paper on the next State Disability Plan. In so doing, it provides advice on the key considerations required for the State Disability Plan to accommodate the mental health needs of people with disability.
Through 16 recommendations, the submission identifies concrete strategies to address the mental health needs of people with disability, including psychosocial, dual and other forms of disability. The submission also identifies strategies to support workforce development and inter-sectoral integration, both of which are key to meeting people's needs.

We pay respect to Elders past and present and value the rich history, unbroken culture and ongoing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to country.
Mental Health Victoria acknowledges those people touched directly and indirectly by mental health vulnerabilities, trauma, suicide and neurodiversity, and their families, kin, friends and carers. We acknowledge the ongoing contribution of those people in the mental health sector.
Mental Health Victoria values diversity. We advocate for a safe and inclusive society for all people, regardless of their ethnicity, faith, disability, sexuality, or gender identity, and uphold these values in all we do.
