Board update: Call for nominations

01
Jul, 2021

At the conclusion of our Annual General Meeting in November this year, two positions will become vacant on the Mental Health Victoria Board. We are hereby issuing a call for nominations to fill these two positions.

The term of membership of the Board is three years.

With once-in-general reforms sweeping through the mental health sector, there has never been a more exciting time to join the Board of Mental Health Victoria (MHV).

Our Nominations Committee has assessed the current and likely future skills, experience and diversity needs of the Board and determined that the organisation would benefit from the appointment of experienced directors with substantial skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Law
  • Social media, marketing, communications, public relations
  • Experience in implementing major reform strategy and implementation.

In addition to the skills and experience outlined above, the Committee determined that the Board would benefit from the appointment of directors with diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to:

  • Lived experience of mental illness (consumer, carer and family member)
  • Gender
  • Geography (especially regional/rural Victoria)
  • Members of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait, LGBTIQ+, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The nomination period will be open for four weeks from 9 July 2021. The nomination form can be downloaded here.
