MHV enters the next phase of its evolution

As the mental health sector in Victoria experiences one of the most significant years in its history, Mental Health Victoria continues to evolve to meet the changing needs.

 

Significantly, the organisation has recently welcomed two new Deputy CEOS: Larissa Taylor (responsible for Policy, Advocacy and Communications) and Leanne Ansell-McBride (Operations).

They will work closely with CEO Angus Clelland to steer the organisation into the next phase of its existence.

Larissa Taylor has previously worked as a clinical psychologist and has served for a number of years as MHV's Director of Policy, establishing herself as a highly respected voice within the sector.

Leanne Ansell-McBride first came to the organisation in December 2021 as a Project Coordinator and Coach and helped oversee a significant expansion within MHV, via a project supported by the Victorian Government's Working For Victoria program.

"As a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and support, I’m very excited to be taking up this new role," said Leanne, who, with Larissa, is currently co-Acting CEO while Mr Clelland is on leave.

"I'm hoping I can make a real difference across the sector during this time of once-in-a-lifetime reforms."

Farewell to a highly respected Director

Mental Health Victoria is at the same time sad to see the departure of long-serving Director of Workforce Development and Learning, David McGuire, who has decided to move on from his role at the end of next month.

"David is a highly respected educator, a longtime contributor and much-loved figure within our organisation," said Leanne.

"Throughout his time here he has contributed passionately and timelessly to help build the capacity and capability of the mental heatlh work force.

"He will be greatly missed at MHV, and we wish him all the best for his future."
